Huang Wei Ling, born on August 21, 1968, in Taipei, Taiwan, immigrated with her family to Brazil at the age of 1½. She enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine at the State University of Londrina, Paraná, Brazil, in 1986 and graduated in 1992. She then specialized in Infectious and Parasitic Diseases at the same university (1993–1995) and later moved to Franca, São Paulo, where she currently resides. Huang is a General Practitioner and a certified Parenteral and Enteral Medical Nutrition Therapist (1996).
From 1995 to 2000, she worked as an infectologist at the Hospital Infection Control Service of Santa Casa of Franca (Franca’s General Hospital), overseeing all prescribed antimicrobial medications. In recognition of her work, she received an award for the best paper presented at the Brazilian Hospital Infection Control Congress in Campos do Jordão in 1998, describing her innovative methodology for antimicrobial control. She also served as the coordinator of the Hospital Infection Control Committee and the São Joaquim Hospital Nutritional Support Committee (2000–2004) and contributed to the Infectious DST Reference Center / AIDS / Hepatitis in Franca (1996–2007).
In 1997, Huang began studying Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Since 2007, she has shared her expertise globally, presenting her work on treating a variety of diseases using acupuncture—a medical specialty recognized in Brazil since 1996—combined with Chinese diet therapy and herbal medicine. Her approach emphasizes holistic care, treating the patient as a whole rather than focusing solely on the disease, inspired by the teachings of Hippocrates.
Her integrative approach combines conventional medical knowledge, nutrition therapy, and traditional Chinese medicine to provide comprehensive care. Through her clinical practice and international presentations, Huang has advanced the understanding of acupuncture’s role in modern medicine, demonstrating its effectiveness in treating complex conditions while promoting overall patient well-being.
